Finding Your Page in Drupal

How to Find Your Content in Drupal

Step 1, Click on 'content'

  • Log in to Drupal
  • Go to  'content' in the upper left corner. In some cases, you may need to click 'manage' on the upper part of the screen in order for the content option to appear. Don't worry about the drop down menu that appears when you hover over content.
  • Click on content.
Access the content option from the upper left corner of the page
Click on content.

Filter your content by type, title, url, or author
Use the search tool to find your page.

Step 2, Search for your content

Once you click on content, you'll see a tool that allows you to filter by different types of content. There are different ways to search for your content:

  • Content type
  • Title
  • Page path
  • Author

Option 1, Search by title

Searching by title is a good option if you know the title of your page. Your page title is whatever is used as the H1 on a page. It appears on the page's billboard.

Looking for your page by title will pull up every page that also shares the words you're looking for. As you can see in the example page, searching 'primary care' pulls up pages with primary care in the title.

TipHovering of the name of a page without clicking it will show you the url path in the bottom left of your screen.

WarningSearching by title is not the most effective way to search for your page. For example, if you are trying to find an orthoaedics pages and enter 'orthopaedics' in the search box, not every ortho page will appear. This is because not every ortho page uses the words 'orthopaedics in their title.

Search content by title in the search box
Searching by title will pull every page that shares the words you searched for.

Copy the URL of the page you are looking for up to the forward slash
Copy everything after the forward slash of the url.

Option 2, Search by page path

In almost all cases, searching by the url path is your best option.

  • Copy or enter your url path. You want to use the entire url up until the /.

Example/orthopaedics/specialties/hip-pain/dysplasia

  • Search for your page.

Your page will appear in search results. Since all page paths are unique,  your page should be the only one that appears.

Searching by page page should show the exact url in the results
