Scheduled Transitions

How to set up a Scheduled Transition

  • A 'Scheduled Transition' automatically changes a page’s status (like Draft to Published) at a specific date and time you set. This helps you plan content ahead of time without needing to log in to make the change manually.
  • Set up a 'Scheduled Transition' on Basic Page and Story content types.

Step 1: Navigate to the Page

In Drupal, go to the page you want to schedule a transition for.

Step 2: Open the 'Scheduled Transitions' Tab

Click the Scheduled Transitions tab on the top right.
Tip: This is in line with the 'View' and 'Edit' tabs

Step 3: Click '+ Add Scheduled Transition'

Click the blue ‘+ Add Scheduled Transition’ button.

Step 4: Choose Revision

Leave ‘Latest Revision’ selected, or choose a different revision if needed.

Step 5: Select a New Page Status

In the ‘Execute transition’ dropdown, select the status (e.g., Publish).

Step 6: Set the Date and Time

Choose the date and time for the transition.
Note: Cache may take up to 10 minutes to clear

Step 7: Finalize the Transition

Click the blue ‘Schedule Transition’ button.

Step 8: Unlock the Page

Click ‘Unlock’ then confirm you want to break the lock before leaving the page to allow others to make edits.

How to Edit or Delete a Scheduled Transition

Navigate to the 'Scheduled Transitions' tab then select one of the two options from the dropdown in the 'Operations' column on the right hand side of the transition you already scheduled. If you select the 'Reschedule' you will be prompted to select a new date and time for the transition to occur. After you save, be sure to unlock the page again before you navigate away from the 'Scheduled Transitions' tab.
