Captions in Kaltura (Mediaspace)

How to Upload & Edit Captions in Kaltura (Mediaspace)

1. Login to the HSC instance of Kaltura (Mediaspace) and open the video you want to add/edit captions. **Note: If your view of the Kaltura/Mediaspace interface doesn't match what you see below, please refer to these alternate instructions for Admin level users.

2. To upload or edit captions, select the “Actions” option. Then select “Edit” in the drop-down menu.

3. Select “Captions” from the options

4. You can now choose to edit or upload captions. To edit, either auto-generated captions or a previously uploaded caption file, select “edit captions”. To upload a caption file, select “upload captions file”

5. If you choose to upload a file you will see a dialog similar to this. Click on “upload file” and find the .SRT file on your machine you want to upload. Then select “add caption.”

Step 6. If you chose to edit a caption you will see a dialog similar to this. At this point you can edit captions to bring them up to the new ADA standards. If there is more than one caption file, make sure the entry you want to edit is shown in the captions drop down list.

Make sure to hit the save button when you are done.

Step 7. Once you complete your edits you will see a dialog that asks you to rate the captions accuracy. You can update the percentage and hit save.

Step 8. Your final step should be setting the now accurate caption file as the default
